A picture of a place with a postcard of that place in the picture…

I’m working on an assignment that deals with the title of this post.

The first few tries were done too quickly yesterday evening before attending an optional photo lecture by Kyle Ford on his work, Second Nature (http://www.kylefordphotography.com/Second-Nature). Particularly for my old philosophy colleagues and classmates, for any of you who enjoy irony, and especially those of you who became photographers following that degree completion, I suggest you view that series, especially this one, which has reference to Plato’s Cave.

Anyway, I’m actually a bit perturbed the postcard shot didn’t turn out as I’d hoped because it wasn’t accurately set up. One key aspect was missing–the steeple.

That bastard steeple.

Anyway the bigger reason I’m upset at myself for not having it composed correctly in this one shot was because it was a photo of a woman holding the postcard in front…
